John Ecuyer
Born and now living in Whangarei, New Zealand, John began creating turned wooden objects in 1988, which led to his exploration of other techniques and materials including stone, bone and cast glass, with a special interest in the relationship between his work and the art of healing, both past and present.
Collections of John’s work are held in New Zealand’s Auckland War Memorial Museum, Dowse Art Museum and Whangarei Art Museum. He also has work in the Detroit Institute of Art, and the Maoli Wood Art Museum in Taiwan, and has exhibited in Los Angeles, Detroit, Korea and Australia.
